My Travel Un’Chained 2024 wrap up, or how I witnessed #TravelTech, #IDtech, and #FinTech making history before my very eyes.

They say the third time is the charm: first year was about vision, second year about tech foundation, and this, finally, mostly about demonstrated, tangible traction with an impressive string of live use cases lineup.

Highlighting Lufthansa Group and AVRA Tours S.A. going public with some of the use cases we’ve been working with them and tech partners on: onchain payment and settlement with #stablecoins for non-BSP markets, and product supply & distribution via the Camino Messenger. And witnessing this in turn generating immediate fomo (corporate fomo: a beauty to be seen).

Takeaways (and confirmations) from product perspective: on/off chain interoperability, especially when it comes to payment, is a must now, and we’ll be doubling down in the next months to deliver. Call out to fintech people in my network: we now have a pipeline of Partners wishing to talk to you and implement parts of corporate payment and settlement flows (acquirers, disbursement, factoring, invoicing) with Web2.5 tooling on Camino: get in touch!

Also, onchain digital travel credentials are a hot topic (needs to become one because of upcoming regulation), and getting on Camino now is the logical step to then “inherit” and implement seamlessly both digital payment and identity. The audience got exposed to this concept and to our participation in EU-commissioned large-scale pilots, and the reactions were generally interested (or enthusiastic, as in the case of Juice, with which this was the occasion for in-depth conversations about wallets, but ça va sans dire 😉).

Finally, warm feedback on our product roadmap and the vision for a Swiss Army knife to empower Partner apps while minimising impact on their IT roadmap or imposing UX compromises because of wallets. Thanks to all for the invaluable input gathered, that is food for thoughts for our further refinements.

Now back to buidl and #travle!
