This marks my 6th or 7th travel tech hackathon, and our second Decode Travel. As usual, here comes my post from the trenches! A few observations that stood out:
First, I’m impressed that the hackers took on some of the most systemic hackathon challenges - about payments, personalization, and connectivity. These are exactly the endemic problems of the travel industry that we are working to solve with the Camino Network.
Second, at least by the overall mood of our hackers :), these are problems that are felt and fun to work on, once you’re -finally- given the right building blocks. Our job at Chain4Travel is to provide those building blocks as software components, and we are thankful for the hackers who start putting them to use and give back precious feedback.
As always, I’m amazed by the quality materialized in such a short time span. I won’t spoil results as that’s for the jury to decide, but it’s fascinating to see what builders can accomplish in just 48 hours when they’re motivated and focused.
May the best team win, kudos to everyone who participated, and Tantuni!
