“We built Claude Cowork in 10 days using Claude Code.” This is the productivity unlock. Not 10x. Just: done.
I started building a personal knowledge system this same week — semantic search, MCP, the works. January 14th (Thailand time). Cowork launched the 12th. Pinky swear I didn’t know. Check my GitHub for timestamps.
Relieved it didn’t cross my mind to think this could become a product. Horizontal features become platform plays. File organization, document creation, calendar sync, browser automation — Anthropic just shipped the full stack. But here’s what made this post possible. One missing piece using Claude as I do now for a while: it couldn’t browse my LinkedIn. Walled garden, plus no agent authentication (“Know Your Agent” — hot topic in travel, clearly also for personal productivity).
With Cowork + Claude in Chrome? Now it can. This post was researched autonomously. Claude browsed as me my saved posts, checked peers’ profiles to match tone, read my local corpus and GitHub commits, committed a draft of the post in my corpus. No keyboard — Wispr Flow for the task description and some initial sparring. And if you’re reading this, it will have tried to post, fail because of the characters limit on LinkedIn post, tightened and posted successfully. Truly agentic writing. First time. And for this experiment no human in the loop although this is a bad practice, don’t do it at home ;)
What Cowork doesn’t do: remember. Every session starts fresh. I’m actually re-researching Cowork right now because Claude doesn’t recall I saved these exact posts and pasted them in the chat two days ago when I finally discovered it had launched. So my project pivots at its nascent state and focuses elsewhere. Not action — that’s Cowork’s game. Memory. A semantic corpus Claude can query mid-conversation. Context that persists.
I’ve spent years in knowledge retrieval — Autonomy, enterprise search, recommendation engines. At @FairMind we do context management for large codebases. Same pattern, personal scale.
Horizontal features → incumbents.
Vertical expertise → still valuable.
